The Doll House

Most of the "doll houses" you see on internet websites are playhouses for children. They are miniaturized and an adult can't fit comfortably inside. This 8 x 12 dollhouse however has an overall height of ten feet. It can therefore be easily outfitted as a writer's shed or studio.

Reminiscent of old Victorian houses, the steep rooflines and graceful dormer add a fresh style to boring backyard sheds. The two 2x2 opening windows fill the 96 square feet with lots of light making this quaint little cottage irresistible for the kid inside us all. The single door in the dormer is complemented with standard large double doors on the gable end, which can be modified to suit your needs.*

Jamaica Cottage Shop buildings are hand made in Vermont, from native rough sawn hemlock and pine lumber. A 4x4 is really cut at four inches by four inches, and isn't just a nominal dimension.

Rugged post and beam techniques passed down through the centuries are applied to pre cut and notched for assembly into a sturdy picturesque house reminiscent of old New England.
